Things with DC over at Warner Bros has been a mess of late. Variety has more details on just what the hell is going on at that studio:
— The atmosphere at DC Films after last weeks "reset" is nothing but confusion and mixed signals. There are over a dozen projects in the pipeline whose future remain unknown.
— Joker: Folie à Deux, is the only DC film that has gotten a greenlight. Not even The Batman sequel has been greenlit yet.
— Films like Wonder Woman 3, Zatanna, and Static Shock have no updates since their initial announcements.
— Blue Beetle, filming now and originally set for HBO Max, will be released theatrically next year.
— Warners Picture Group chiefs Michael de Luca and Pam Abdy are trying to mend fences with Leslie Grace, and the idea is being floated of her appearing as Batgirl in another project.
— While Kevin Fiege has free reign at Marvel, whoever runs DC will have to go through Casey Bloys (HBO Chair) and Channing Dungey (Warners TV Chair) to integrate all films and television together.
— de Luca and Abdy want Walter Hamada to stick around, but many say Hamada has been treated poorly and reports say he almost resigned after Batgirl was canceled.
— Zaslav wants everything DC to be a single creative endeavor, but their most popular projects — The Batman, Peacemaker, Harley Quinn — have no relation to each other.
— Greg Berlanti's Green Lantern series is still a go, but Strange Adventures is not.
— Harley Quinn seems safe, but Titans and Doom Patrol are said to be on the chopping block.
