Josh Duhamel replaces Emilio Estevez on “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers”
‘Mighty Ducks’: Josh Duhamel Set as New Male Lead in Disney+ Series https://t.co/2SEO5UdN9c

• In November of last year it was announced that Emilio Estevez would not return for season two of the well received Mighty Ducks revival series on Disney+. According to a report, the studio decided to drop Estevez from the series after he would not confirm whether he would comply with their strict COVID-19 vaccination mandate. Estevez has responded to these reports by saying that he does not consider himself to be anti-vaxx, but that he left due to a contract dispute and creative differences.
• Laure Graham and the rest of the cast will return and Duhamel will be playing a new character Gavin Cole, “a former-NHL-player-turned-coach who runs the intense summer hockey institute where the young athletes land in season 2.”
• This is the second January in a row that Duhamel has replaced a male lead under interesting circumstances. In January 2021 he entered early talks to replace Armie Hammer in the Jennifer Lopez-led romcom Shotgun Wedding and was officially announced as the new lead in early February.
